rev. October 22, 2011.

The West Rouge Tennis Club and the Scarborough Tennis Federation, Inter - Club league play:

All tennis clubs (19) located across the former borough of Scarborough are members of the Scarborough Tennis Federation, which is affiliated
with the Ontario Tennis Association and Tennis Canada.  The overall goal of all three tiers is to support organised tennis play across their
areas within Canada allowing players to improve and thereby achieve their potential.

If you are a new member of the West Rouge Tennis Club (WRTC) it will likely not be long before you hear STF spoken of and odds are that the
speaker will be referring to the competitive Inter-Club leagues of singles and doubles tennis play organized by STF on a Scarborough-wide
basis.  There are five Divisions A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1 which make up the League. The STF does much more than this, but their Inter-Club
leagues are perhaps its best known activity.   Clubs send their best players to represent them in these leagues which play at the five skill levels.
Level A Division (top level) players may also play at the provincial or even national levels.  Remember, Daniel Nestor has a home club.

Currently the WRTC has three Teams, all of which finished in the mid-range of their respective Divisions.  We have two Teams in the STF B1
Division and both play on Thursday evenings.  As one Team plays at home the other plays away.  Play in these Inter-Club Leagues begins in
mid-May and ends in mid-August after some 13 games.   A number of our Club members who play in the STF Inter-Club leagues also play in
our House Leagues thereby allowing our recreational-level members to experience a little higher standard of play.

Anyone interested in being on our B1 Teams or C1 Team should contact those Teams through
info@westrougetennisclub.com to be informed
when try-outs will be held.  Once these dates are known we will publish them on this page.

Clicking on the link below will take you to the STF's  website for further information about their programs.

Scarborough Tennis Federation (STF)
rev.  October 22, 2011.

Our three STF Teams had a successful year each finishing within the mid-range of their Divisions.  A big thank you to each
of the Captains, Marc Stefan B1-1 Captain, Debbie Page our B1-2 Captain and Bob Bracht for his work in bringing our new
C1 Team together and delivering a successful first year.

My thanks also to Anne Sonnbichler in her role as our liaison person with the Scarborough Tennis Federation (STF).

I am extremely pleased to report that all four named members of the WRTC above, have agreed to continue in these
capacities for the 2012 year.
